Kavach officially introduced its space to the public through its grand opening exhibition titled What You See Matters, held on February 14, 2026, in Yogyakarta in collaboration with local graffiti artist Techoo. The event marked the beginning of Kavach as a curated multibrand eyewear space, while also setting the tone for how the space approaches vision, design, and experience.
Rather than presenting a conventional opening, Kavach transformed the moment into a spatial exhibition where Techoo’s works became part of the environment itself. His visual language brought a distinct energy into the space, interacting with the interior and the curated eyewear displays. This integration created a layered experience, allowing visitors to move through the space while engaging with both art and objects in a more fluid and personal way.
The collaboration was rooted in a shared exploration of perspective. Through the title What You See Matters, the exhibition reflected the idea that seeing is not only about clarity, but also about interpretation. This became closely aligned with Kavach’s approach to eyewear, where function and design are connected to how individuals experience and understand their surroundings. Visitors who attended the opening came from various communities, including creatives, designers, and those drawn to art and culture. The event became a meeting point, where conversations, movement, and observation naturally unfolded throughout the space.
By bringing together art, community, and spatial experience, the grand opening positioned Kavach not only as a place to purchase eyewear, but as a platform for ongoing dialogue and collaboration. As its first activation, What You See Matters established a foundation for future programs, where each moment within Kavach continues to explore the relationship between vision, perspective, and everyday experience.
